The duration of the performance shall be between 8 to 10 minutes.
Time allowed for stage setup, instrument arrangement, sound check, and overall
readiness, as applicable, shall not exceed 10 minutes.
A maximum of five accompanists is permitted.
Accompaniment must be live; recorded music or audio/CDs are not permitted.
The dance may be either a primitive or a folk dance (Indian style) or a tribal dance of
India,
but not a classical dance.
Three copies of a brief note describing the theme (Hindi/English) and the text of the
song, if any,
must be submitted along with the entry form at the time of registration.
The participating team will be responsible for the immediate removal of their sets,
properties, etc.,
after the completion of their performance.
Judgement will be based on rhythm, formation, expression, costumes, make-up, sets, and
overall effect.
Marking will be strictly based on the quality of dance. Extra efforts to enhance visual
appeal through set design
will not be considered for marking.
Classical Dance (Indian)
Only one entry per university is allowed.
The classical dance can be from any of the approved schools of dance,
i.e., Kathak, Kathakali, Bharatanatyam, Manipuri, Kuchipudi,
Mohiniyattam, Odissi, or Sattriya.

Judgement will be based on qualities such as Taal, technique, rhythm,
Abhinaya (expression), costumes, footwork, and overall impression.
Three copies of a brief note describing the dance story, if any, and of
the accompanying song with its meaning in Hindi or English must be
submitted at the time of registration.
Creative Choreography
Only one entry per university is allowed.
A maximum of 12 participants is permitted per team.

A maximum of three accompanists is permitted. Accompanists may assist with props,
technical cues, background narration, or effect creation. While they are expected to
remain off-stage, they may be momentarily visible while performing these duties;
however, they shall not be considered part of the performance. Their role remains
purely supportive in nature.
The performance must present a clear theme or message through dance, whether
utilizing a single dance form/style or a fusion of multiple dance forms/styles. The
theme should be suitable for public viewing and preferably be youth-centric,
nation-centric, or address social issues.
Recorded music is allowed. However, participating teams are expected to exercise
caution in the selection of songs to ensure that the essence and spirit of the Youth
Festival are upheld and not compromised.

Teams must bring or arrange their own props, if any.
Choreography will be judged based on parameters such as theme and message clarity,
choreography and creativity, synchronization and coordination, use of stage and
props, costumes, and overall impact. Extra efforts to enhance visual appeal through
set design will not be considered for marking.
