About the Programme

Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme (W-EDP) is designed to inculcate the required skills and competencies of business among the prospective/existing women entrepreneurs belonging to science & technology academic background. It aims to develop entrepreneurial mindset among the female population and endeavors to motivate and guide them to set up their own enterprises. It will impart training to science & technology graduates and diploma holders in the essentials of conceiving, planning, initiating and launching an economic activity or an enterprise successfully.

W-EDP aims to empower budding and existing women entrepreneurs who want to start, run and grow their business and to create conducive conditions for inclusive, resilient and sustainable economies. It does so by addressing gendered imbalances in enterprise development in order to scale women entrepreneurs’ contributions to growth and sustainable development and to enable their meaningful participation in entrepreneurship ecosystem. WEDP provide inputs on process and practice of entrepreneurship development, communication and inter-personal skills, creativity, problem solving, achievement motivation, resources available and all aspects of entrepreneurship.

Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme (WEDP) aims at training the science & technology graduates and diploma holders in the essentials of conceiving, planning, initiating and launching an economic activity or an enterprise successfully.

About Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation

Entrepreneurship culture is of key importance to Chitkara University. With the vision “To promote entrepreneurial spirit amongst youth, researchers, engineers, and society at large by promoting cutting edge technology & non -technology start-ups which will lead to economic and social development of the country” Chitkara University has opened its first incubator “Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation (CIIF)” in the year 2015 with an area of 15,000 sq ft. CIIF is one of the first TBI to be established in Punjab & also to get Govt. grants like Startup India Seed Fund, NIDHI PRAYAS, NIDHI-SSP, MeitY- TIDE 2.0 etc.

CIIF –DST Approved MSME recognized TBI, provides facilities like industry desired mentoring, space, flexible leases, shared use of common office equipment, direct business assistance and guidance, networking to capital, connecting to industry for business pilots / growth of start-ups and other technical resources.
