Overview

In today’s rapidly advancing technological landscape, Gaming and AR/VR (Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality) workshops play a pivotal role in education, professional development, and industry innovation. Game development cultivates essential skills such as problem-solving, logical reasoning, critical thinking, and creative ideation. These workshops offer a structured environment to explore game design principles, user experience (UX), and interactive storytelling, encompassing both technical execution and artistic expression.AR/VR technologies provide immersive, experiential learning opportunities, particularly valuable in fields that require training in complex, hazardous, or high-cost scenarios—such as healthcare, aviation, and manufacturing. Participants can develop and refine their skills in simulated environments, enhancing confidence and accelerating learning without real-world risks. Furthermore, AR/VR supports realistic visualization and prototyping, enabling professionals in engineering, architecture, and design to identify flaws and optimize concepts prior to production.Beyond entertainment, AR/VR is transforming industries including education, retail, real estate, and healthcare. These workshops equip participants with future-ready, industry-aligned competencies, positioning them at the forefront of technological advancement.

Objectives Outcomes

  • Demonstrate Proficiency in the Unity Editor: Navigate and utilize core Unity interface components—including the Scene, Game, Hierarchy, Project, Inspector, and Console windows—for effective 3D environment manipulation.
  • Apply Foundational Game Development Concepts: Explain and implement essential Unity concepts such as GameObjects, Components, Prefabs, Scenes, and Assets to build interactive game elements.
  • Integrate Materials, Textures, and Basic Physics: Develop and assign materials and textures to 3D models and apply fundamental physics principles using rigid bodies and colliders to enhance realism.
  • Develop and Deploy AR Applications: Configure Unity for AR development using AR Foundation, implement image tracking and plane detection, and manage AR sessions to build immersive marker-based and markerless AR experiences.
  • Design Interactive User Interfaces and Basic C# Scripts: Construct functional UI elements within the Unity Canvas and write basic C# scripts to control object behaviors and interactivity.
  • Create and Test Basic VR Experiences: Set up a Unity VR project using OpenXR or SDKs, understand VR camera mechanics for immersion, implement gaze-based interaction, and enable basic scene navigation or teleportation in a VR environment.

Focus Areas

  • Immersive technology integration using AR/VR for enhanced learning and real-world applications
  • Skill development in Unity, game design, C# scripting, and XR development
  • Creative expression through interactive storytelling, visual design, and multimedia elements
  • Preparing participants for Industry 4.0 with competencies aligned to emerging tech sectors
  • Promoting digital literacy and building confidence in using modern technological tools
  • Encouraging hands-on, project-based learning to apply concepts in practical scenarios
