Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh

An artificial reservoir at the foothills of the Himalayas, this 3 km² rain fed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills. Sukhna Lake is ideal for boating and relaxation. The lake, surrounded by a promenade, offers picturesque views, especially at sunset. It’s a popular spot for picnics, morning walks, and birdwatching.

Situated in Sector 1, is a vibrant sanctuary dedicated to avian species. Spanning over 6.5 acres, the park features a variety of bird species, including native and migratory birds. Rock Garden, Chandigarh

Created by Nek Chand, the Rock Garden is an innovative sculpture park built from discarded materials like broken crockery, glass, and metal. Spread over 40 acres, it features whimsical, intricate sculptures, waterfalls, and labyrinthine paths, making it a unique and engaging destination.

Rose Garden

Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is a botanical garden in Chandigarh, India and spread over 30 acres of land, with 50,000 rose-bushes of 1600 different species. It’s a visual treat, especially during the annual Rose Festival, showcasing vibrant blooms and providing a serene escape.

Chhatbir Zoo

Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park is located about 17 km from Chandigarh. Spanning 202 acres, it is home to a variety of wildlife, including Royal Bengal tigers, lions, elephants, and numerous bird species. Its dinosaur park and otter house is an attraction for kids. The zoo focuses on conservation and education, offering well-designed enclosures and educational programs for visitors.

Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi Temple

Mata Mansa Devi is a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Mansa Devi, a form of Shakti, in the Panchkula district of Haryana state in India. The temple complex is spread of 100 acres (0.40 km2) of the Shivalik foothills in village Bilaspur, near Mani Majra, and Panchkula, 10 km from Chandi Mandir, another noted Devi shrine in the region, both just outside Chandigarh. It is one of the prominent Shakti temples of North India.

Sri Karthikeyaswamy Temple

Dedicated to Lord Murugan, the Sri Valli Devasena Sametha Sri Kartikeya Swami Temple was established by the Tamilians in Chandigarh. The temple is located in the 31 D sector of Chandigarh. The Shivacharyas of Kanchipuram performed a Maha kumbhabhishekam at the temple in 1992 and in 2002. Other than Lord Murugan, the temple complex houses a sannidhi for Lord Hanuman and Navagrahas.

Gurdwara Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib

>Located in Sector 34, the gurdwara showcases traditional Sikh architecture with a marble facade and a prominent golden dome. It serves as a spiritual center offering daily prayers, religious sermons, and free community meals (Langar). This is a revered Sikh shrine dedicated to Guru Teg Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, known for his sacrifice to protect religious freedom.

Leisure Valley

A continuum of various theme gardens to take care of the body and spirit of the city. Le Corbusier retained the eroded valley of a seasonal rivulet on the original site of the City and sculptured it into a Linear park now over 8km long .It starts from Sector 1 in the north and leaves Chandigarh at its southern most edge in sector 53.
