- The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or its equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
- B.Sc Nursing/B.Sc Hons Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing recognised by Indian Nursing Council with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
- Min. one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing.
- Minimum one year of work experience prior to or after Post Basic B.Sc Nursing.
M.Sc in NURSING
Medical Surgical Nursing | Psychiatric Nursing | Community Health Nursing | Paediatric Nursing | Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing
Each year, the program produces competent nurses who are capable of making independent decisions in nursing situations, protecting the rights of individuals and groups in pursuit of health, functioning effectively in hospitals & community nursing services, and conducting research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also well prepared to fill the role of a teacher, supervisor and manager in a clinical/public health setting.
The program emphasises the development of leadership, critical thinking, and clinical skills. Students are trained to handle diverse healthcare settings, from emergency rooms to community health projects. With a strong focus on ethical nursing practices, they are prepared to address challenges in healthcare delivery, advocate for patient welfare, and contribute to advancements in nursing through research and education.
On completion of M.Sc Nursing degree program, the graduates are able to:
- Apply knowledge from physical, biological & behavioural sciences, medicine (including alternative systems), and, nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities
- Practice as a nurse specialist
- Demonstrate the ability to plan and effect change in nursing practice and in the health care delivery system
- Participate effectively as members of the health team in health care delivery system
- Conduct research studies in various settings and utilise the research findings to improve the quality of care
