Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology (OTT) program is one of the new and upcoming fields of interest when it comes to professional programs and coursework. The more astute and nuanced medical sciences fields are becoming; there is a greater requirement for professionals in the field.
Chitkara University’s B.Sc in OT & AT is the total package: practical, hands-on experience; expert faculty; industry endorsed curriculum and internship in real world setting. Our program has been designed to ensure that students gain adequate expertise to be a part of the surgical team. The industry aligned curriculum prepares the technician to be fully conversant with the functioning of the operation theatre and the surgical procedures undertaken in the Operation Theatre (OT). They are trained to maintain the OT equipment and instruments, check the infection control practices and status of sterilisation of the OT and also ensure its smooth functioning. Apart from gaining a solid base in theory, the student also experiences hands-on learning in each discipline of the Operation Theatre and, under supervision, learns in-depth about pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative areas. A student in the clinical phase of training usually works 40 hours per week for 52 weeks, experiencing work as a full-time employee.

Masters Program (Fellowship)
After successfully completing the B.Sc in Operation Theatre Technology program, students will have the opportunity to pursue a Master of Operation Theatre Technology under the Fellowship program. While pursuing the Master’s program, they will also be eligible for a stipend of approximately Rs. 30,000 per month.
