Eligibility
Our 4-Year B.Sc Nursing (Basic) program at Chitkara School of Health Sciences is a full-time program comprising eight semesters. The program prepares nurses and midwives for generalist nursing, including midwifery practice. Knowledge acquisition related to wellness, health promotion, illness, disease management, and care of the dying is core to nursing practice. Mastery of competencies is the main focus. Students are provided with opportunities to learn a whole range of skills in addition to acquiring knowledge related to nursing practice (nursing and midwifery).
The program is an excellent opening for candidates who aspire to be trained in India as per international standards.

Our collaboration with Fortis (Mohali) provides the necessary ‘hands-on’ clinical experience; imperative for the students pursuing this hospital-based academic program. Chitkara School of Health Sciences thus aims to create a benchmark in Nursing education in India, with an aim to prepare graduates to work as front line workers in the clinical & community field, and educational arena; training them in India as per International standards. Students are given training in developing basic skills in the laboratory and in simulated conditions, before they are exposed to the working in an actual hospital setting.
The training methodology at Chitkara School of Health Sciences helps students develop high degree of conceptual skills, analytical skills and quality technical knowledge base, and prepares them for hospitals and related healthcare domains. Additionally, our state-of-the-art, excellent laboratory infrastructure along with industry aligned curriculum ensures hands-on and holistic education.

We are building on existing and developing new partnerships with companies to fuse industry with academia to make our graduates ready for the future.
Students get hands-on experience in specialised facilities such as well - equipped research laboratories, dummy representations etc. This comprehensive program is offered through a variety of courses, labs and extracurricular activities and group exercises.
