Schottky Junction Printable Solar Cell
Due to fossil fuel shortages, non-conventional energy sources are in high demand. However, demand for affordable solar power components, such as solar panels, is expected to boost the printable solar cells market. Photovoltaic cells cost less and perform better, but they are not flexible. Conventional crystalline silicon-based PV devices also have high raw material usage, high thermal budget, silicon recycling, high manufacturing cost, complicated productions, and less efficient solar cells.
Thus, we made semiconductor nanocrystals-based screen-printed flexible solar cells. Screen-printing the first semiconductor nanocrystals or powder layer mixed with polymer binder or active layer on FTO-coated glass. The first active layer will form a Schottky Junction with FTO-coated glass. Screen-printing the second semiconductor nanocrystals or powder layer with polymer binder collects electrons. The second layer would make ohmic contact with the first. The screen-printed back electrode would extract electrons.
