High Energy Ethanol Fuel Cell
A novel method has been devised for converting insidious prosopis juliflora trees into ethanol based proton exchange energy storage device having high energy density of 8.0 kWh/kg. This renewable ethanol fuel cell is going to reduce the dependence on non-renewable energy sources and keep the air pollution under check. Additionally, it is going to keep under check the growth of invasive prosopis juliflora trees that is a threat to agriculture land and ground water.
At TRL4, this much needed technology received a second prize in an “Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency Competition” of Punjab Energy Development Agency in 2020.
