During the intra-hospital and inter-building transfer of patients for admissions or other diagnostic procedures, issues like the fall of the patient from the stretcher, the exertion of patient attendants, the lack of signage on the way, the danger of vehicular road traffic accidents, and helplessness of attendants during the transport of the patient lead to anxiety and a delay in the treatment. There is a need to develop as solution to find a comfortable, safe and effortless mode of patient transfer by designing a convertible wheelchair, which can transform into a stretcher.
