Consistency Issues in Soap Making Industry
Manufacturing of soaps (primarily detergent and dishwashing bars) in the MSME industry is a manual process (when it comes to preparing the mixture), and the quality of the final product is heavily dependent upon the amount of water added to the mixture. Even a slight variation in the water concentration adversely affects the quality of the final product.
The amount of water to be added varies with different seasons, climatic conditions, ambient conditions, etc. Therefore, industries currently rely on hit and trial method of adding the water, which is not effective and cost friendly.
Hence, there is a need of developing a system or process that will determine the exact amount of water to be added in the mixture to manufacture soaps in different conditions.
