5th Edition of the NOVATE+ 2023

Chitkara University-TEC organized the 5th edition of NOVATE + 2023 based on the theme Biggest Confluence of Academia and Industry for Building Market-Ready Products. NOVATE+ is an annual flagship event of Chitkara University where innovative project ideas are invited and selected ideas receive prototyping funding for their implementation. In addition to funding support, this platform also provides mentoring, expert guidance, and collaboration opportunities.

The students and faculty members were encouraged to reach out to the industry to understand the challenges faced by them and to bring joint proposals. During April – June 2023, we received more than 90 projects, out of which 38 entries competed for a total funding of INR 50 lakh. The inauguration ceremony and jury round of the event was held on July 21st & 22nd July, 2023. Two different panels of reviewers critically analyzed each of these project proposals. Mr. Harpreet Singh (Director, Eon Infotech Ltd, Punjab) and Mr. Rama Kant (Director, EPIC-Ambala) were the jury members invited from the industry, whereas Dr. P.K Khosla (Pro-Vice Chancellor), Dr. SN Panda (Executive Director, Research), Dr. Rakesh Goyal (Professor, Research), and Mr. Sanjay Bhatnagar (Visiting Faculty & Professor) were invited as a jury from the University.

Dr. Archana Mantri – Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University, Punjab, delivered the inaugural address & encouraged students to have meaningful collaboration with the industry and work on projects jointly. The guests from Industry and Academia shared their experiences and views on every project pitch delivered by the participants.

Novate+ 2023 was jointly organized by Chitkara University NewGen IEDC and Chitkara University TEC (DST, Govt. of India funded centres). Mr Sagar Juneja – Assistant. Dean, CURIN, was the convener to organize the event. The winners of NOVATE+ 2023 may receive up to INR 2.5 lakhs to develop their project Ideas.
