Chitkara University Research and Innovation Network (CURIN) and Technology Enabling Centre (CU-TEC) funded by DST, GoI in collaboration with Chitkara School of Health Sciences, World NCD Federation (WNF) and Doctors For You (DFY) organized the International Symposium on ‘Interventions and Innovations for Diabetes Management’ (IIDM-2023) to promote “Industry-Academia Collaborations for the Advancement of Diabetes Management Technologies.”
The symposium thoroughly explored the current and future landscape of diabetes technology, partnerships, efficient industry-academia collaboration, and bridging healthcare gaps. Distinguished experts, including Dr. Ronika Paika from World NCD Federation (WNF); Dr. KP Singh (Director, Department of Endocrinology, Fortis Hospital, Mohali); Dr. Amit Lahoti, Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Program Director - Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Ohio State University; Dr. Anurag Mishra, Professor, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi; Dr. Rajat Jain, Radiologist and President of Doctors For You (DFY), New Delhi; Dr. Sanjay Rajpal, Country Manager, Ypsomed India Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi, and Sanket kumar Biswas, Vice President of Technology, BeatO, New Delhi, delivered enlightening sessions, providing a holistic view of diabetes care.
It included keynote talks addressing the diabetes epidemic and public health challenges, an expert session on the latest developments and unmet needs in diabetes management, and informative sessions on creating affordable and innovative diabetes technology and the role of civil society.
Discussions on the impact of technology digitization on diabetes management and tech-driven diabetes wellness from industry perspectives were featured. The event concluded with a panel discussion on emerging trends in diabetes care, bringing together experts to share insights on opportunities and challenges.
