The Right to Information, Statutory Declaration under RTI Act, 2005 has been enacted by the Parliament and has come into force on 15 June 2005. This Act provides access to information under the control of public authorities to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority.
Chitkara University Punjab (The University) is a statutory organization established by “The Chitkara University Act” of the State Legislature of Punjab in 2010 and by its being established by the statute of the State Legislature; it comes within the meaning of Public Authority and under the purview of Right to Information Act, 2005.

University has the right to confer degrees as per Sections 2(f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956, and Chitkara University First Ordinances empowers the University to establish Schools of Studies/ Institutes/ Colleges, Departments, and Centers under the various Faculties in the University in a phased manner over some time.
The University offers multi-disciplinary programs, all of which are designed to be industry-relevant. Presently following Schools/ Institutes/ Colleges, Departments and Centers are running in the University:
All the Courses and Programmes offered by Chitkara University are approved and recognized by UGC or other regulatory bodies as required. Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) The program of Chitkara School of Planning & Architecture is approved by the Council of Architecture (COA), a statutory body constituted by the Government of India to regulate the education and practice of the profession of architecture throughout India, besides maintaining the register of architects.
B. Pharm, M. Pharm, Pharm D, B. Pharm (Practice), and other Programs in Pharmacy being offered by Chitkara College of Pharmacy are approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)—a statutory body of Government of India established to regulate pharmacy education in the country for registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act and the profession and practice of pharmacy.
Teacher education programs such as B. Ed of Chitkara College of Education for Women are duly recognized by the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE)—a statutory body of the Government of India established for planned and coordinated development of the teacher education system throughout the country.
Nursing Programs of Chitkara School of Health Sciences are duly recognized by Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC) and Indian Nursing Council (INC)—a statutory body of the Government of India established to ensure a uniform standard of training for nurses, midwives, and health visitors.

Any information disclosure of which is not prohibited by any law and information is related to the public affairs of this University is open to the public and may be obtained from the Public Information Officer (PIO) of this University by written applications for seeking such information.
All Statutory Declaration under RTI Act applications must specify the full name and address of the applicant and full particulars of the information required with relevant references if any. Request for information may be made in Hindi, English, or Punjabi. Where the applicant cannot make the request in writing, the assistance of the Assistant Public Information Officer may be taken to reduce the oral request into a written request. Requests may be sent by post or personally handed over in the Administrative Office of the University during working hours of the University.
All applications must be accompanied by application fee of Rs. 10/-and a documentary proof to the effect that applicant is a citizen of India. If volume of information required is large, an additional fee of Rupees two for each additional page in A4 size paper and actual copying cost in larger size paper shall have to be borne by the applicant before requisitioning information. The fee against the application of RTI may be paid by demand draft or banker’s cheque or Indian Postal order payable to “Chitkara University, Punjab”. Persons below poverty line are exempted from payment of application fee and also the fee for providing the information.
