World Physiotherapy Day celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm by CSHS
Chitkara School of Health Sciences (CSHS) celebrated World Physiotherapy Day on 8th September’2016 to mark the contribution of Physiotherapists towards society in promoting health and wellbeing. The day was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm by hosting various academic and cultural events.
The day began with an Informative Session on Ergonomics, given by Dr. GK Balaji which also included demonstration of quick exercises to combat deleterious effects of long working hours. A free physiotherapy consultation and assessment camp for administrative staff and students was conducted.
Students of post-graduation displayed models and posters made by them on emerging trends in physiotherapy. Krishna, MPT II semester student won the best poster prize. Best model prize was won by Shruti of MPT II Semester.
A competition on Rangoli was also organized where in students of bachelors of physiotherapy exhibited their art and creativity.
This was followed by a cultural evening which was inaugurated by Dr. Preethi Pradhan and Dr. Keerti Pradhan with lamp lighting and recital of Saraswati Salokas by a student named Ravya of bachelors of physiotherapy. The cultural evening was marked with spellbound singing and dancing performances of students of Physiotherapy. Amanpreet of BPT first semester won solo dance performance. Bhangra students won prize in group dancing.
Apart from this, an awareness talk on physiotherapy was given by Dr. Anjanjeet Kaur and Saksham Sahni, a student of BPT I Semester on Chitkara Radio 107.8 FM.
