World Kidney Day celebrated at CSHS with Health Awareness program
A Kidney Health Awareness program was held on the occasion of World Kidney Day on March 14, 2019, at Chitkara School of Health Sciences. About 200 students of Allied Health Sciences from various branches – Medical Image Technology, Medical Lab Technology, Dialysis Therapy Technology, Operation Theatre Technology and Optometry participated enthusiastically in spreading awareness about kidney health and diseases along with the staff and faculty members.
The event started with ‘Drink a glass of lemon water’ activity, where everyone present was requested to drink a glass of lemon water, signifying the importance of water intake for the healthy functioning of the Kidneys. Next, Mr. Philip Sanjeev Kumar, Sr. Lab Technologist, Department of Nephrology, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh; delivered an Expert Talk on ‘Kidney Health for Everyone Everywhere’.
Later, a Quiz and Slogan Writing Contest was organised. Students Kritika (B.Sc-MLT) bagged the first prize, followed by Tanya (B.Sc-MIT) with the second and Poorvi Verma (B.Sc-MIT) and Charanjeet Kaur (B.Sc-MLT) with the third prize. In the Quiz, Bishaka Jain (B.Sc-MIT) and Rahul Tiwari (B.Sc-MLT) were declared the winners.
