World Health Day celebrated with theme ‘Beat Diabetes 2016’ by CSHS

World Health Day is an initiative taken by the World Health Organization. This year’s theme celebrated was “Beat Diabetes, 2016” for its global commitments to reduce diabetes. In this regard, to make the students aware of the coercion behind the threats imposed by diabetes, Chitkara School of Health Sciences organized the event and keep students abound to the syndrome which could be easily eradicated with careful planning of lifestyle. Two guest speakers were invited who shared their expertise. Poster competition was also held in which 28 students from CSHS participated.

The guest speakers who shared their views and knowledge were:

• Dr. B.L. Bachan, Medical Superintendent, Head and Professor of Medicine, GMC, Patiala
• Ms. Meenaxi Gautam Sharma, Assistant Professor, CSHS.

A short quiz competition was also hosted by Ms. Meenaxi in which students were quizzed about general diabetes questions.

Review round was then conducted by Dr. Preethi Pradhan followed by valedictory function and vote of thanks.
