World Cancer Day observed at Chitkara University, Punjab

World Cancer Day is observed so that the entire world can unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic. It aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about cancer. Therefore, World Cancer Day was organized on February 4 at Chitkara University, Punjab. The guest speakers were Ms. Jaspal Kaur, Ms. Savita, Dr. Gaurav Sharma and Mr. Avneesh Bhardwaj from CanSupport, an NGO.

The major highlight of the talk of the guest speakers was upon Palliative Home Care, especially for Cancer patients. The eminent guest speakers encouraged the students to do a role-play activity depicting the ‘Importance Of Communication In Providing Health Care’. The participant students were the 2nd and 4th Semester students of B.Sc. MIT, MLT, OTT, DTT, and OPTOMETRY (2nd and 4rth semester), the faculty of AHS and the Supporting Staff.

A Slogan writing competition was also organized for the students and they enthusiastically participated in the competition.
