Workshop on Latex organized by School of Applied Sciences
School of Applied Sciences organized a three-day workshop on LATEX. LATEX is a language that helps create structured documents, more applicable on documents that contain mathematics. LATEX is used by people, whose publications involve a large number of mathematical equations.
The main purpose of LATEX workshop was to spread awareness on LATEX. The workshop instilled confidence among participants on using LATEX for their documents.
Research can easily be shared with others as LATEX also gives the facility of pdf output and it can be shared even if LATEX is not installed.
Students and professionals who are from engineering sciences use LATEX as a standard writing tool for most research carried out in the mathematical, physical and their related field.
Participants were given detailed insights on LATEX, its use in basic document creation, formatting the Document- special characters- dashes and hyphens- spacing and newline- footnote- formatting (bold, italic, underline, emph)- itemize and enumerate- flush left and right-writing abstracts
The participants were told about advanced Topics- tables- mathematics- equations- Greek letters- equation numbering- vectors, Graphics- inserting image- giving caption and label, Referencing- create references.
They were also told about Beamer- brief introduction to beamer, creating presentations using Beamer.
