Wine appreciation session: Pairing wine with knowledge

Chitkara College of Hospitality Management organised a Wine Appreciation Session to familiarise students with the production, types and nuances of wine. The session, held by Ms Seema Trehan, Area Sales Manager Sula Vineyard J&K, was both educational and fun; and a great change from the regular routine.

Students of CCHM and CSHM got a wonderful exposure and an opportunity to taste white, red and sparkling wine and understand firsthand the logic behind glassware and certain customs related to the presentation of wine to a guest.
During the session, Ms Seema gave an informative presentation on the history of wines and viniculture and went into detail about different types of wine, how to read a wine label, how to distinguish a good wine from a bad one and how to taste and savour wine. She also shared her field experiences with the students.

The session concluded with an open interactive session where students’ queries were answered, and a vote of thanks by Mr Ravi Kapila, Director, CCHM.
