VIRSA 2023: A Celebration of Punjab’s Rich Cultural Heritage and Traditions

Chitkara University, Punjab, recently celebrated VIRSA 2023, a cultural extravaganza that showcased the rich and vibrant culture of Punjab. The event, held on May 12, 2023, aimed to provide an opportunity for people from different walks of life to come together and learn about Punjab’s culture and heritage.

Through various stalls and activities, VIRSA 2023 highlighted the diverse customs, food, music, and dance forms that make Punjab an important part of India’s cultural mosaic. The festival included kite flying, live pottery sessions, and popular games and sports of the region, along with stalls showcasing traditional Punjabi arts, crafts, and fashion.

The festival also witnessed various art and design competitions, with Prof. D.S. Kapoor, Artist & Author (Ex Management Head – NID Kurukshetra, Ex Principal Govt College of Art), serving as the chief guest. The Office of Student Affairs treated attendees to breathtaking singing, giddha, and bhangra performances. Overall, VIRSA 2023 was a resounding success, providing a platform for people to connect and celebrate the vibrant and diverse culture of Punjab.
