Videocon Sets Up telecom lab in Chitkara University

A MoU was signed between Chitkara University and Videocon last year for opening up a telecom lab at the Chitkara University campus for initiating a plethora of opportunities for students. It has finally taken shape as the lab comes up successfully at the campus.

The telecom lab in Chitkara University is well-equipped for live simulation environment and to impart practical technical knowledge to the students and faculty.

The advanced communication lab is equipped with latest technologies viz., WBB, FTTH, GSM and CDMA and this is just the initial phase. This would enable the Chitkara community to experiment on these technologies.

It shall help the University in developing the design facility (in AutoCAD) in the areas of wired and wireless system.
Setting up of the lab would benefit the faculty, Under-Graduate (UG), Post-Graduate (PG) and PhD students for lab experimentation, BE projects, ME / PhD Dissertation in the field of communication.

It shall help the industrial training, industrial tour and employment of the Under-Graduate, Post-Graduate students of University.

It will improve the technical skills of the faculty by providing up to date technology development training from time to time, provide hands on experience of live technologies, and hence better technical understanding of the same.

Chitkara University students can now work on projects like, RF optimization, Network planning, EMF, Transmission, Broadband (Wi-Fi and DSL) etc. at the University campus. It will also teach the students to use this facility for exploring innovative ideas. Apart from providing knowledge regarding FTTH, WBB, GSM and CDMA, the lab will help students explore their potential even further.
