Udaan gives wings to creativity, students bag prizes at Media Fest

Continuing with the tradition of providing an academically and culturally stimulating atmosphere, the annual media fest of Chitkara School of Mass Communication, Udaan 2018, was organised on November 16, 2018.

Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Chitkara University, Punjab, Dr Madhu Chitkara, declared the event open. The fest aimed to challenge, engage and entertain the media students by offering competitions and events in 15 categories, which included RJ Hunt, News Reading on TV, News Reporting for TV, Video Editing, Page Designing, Story Writing, Documentary making, Advertising Production, Cartoon Making, Mobile Journalism, were held. Other competitions included Photography, Selfie Click, Theatre Art and Quiz. Encompassing the creativity, vivacity and enthusiasm of youth, the event saw enthusiastic participation of more than 200 students from 12 University & Media Institutes.

The Overall Trophy was grabbed by Centre for Advanced Media Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala. During the Felicitation Ceremony, Dr. Madhu Chitkara congratulated all the winners & encouraged all the participants, and said that as media is growing, it is the responsibility of the students to uphold the values of the profession.
