UDAAN’ CSMC Media Fest concluded with great success
Chitkara School of Mass Communication’s (CSMC’s) Annual Media Fest ‘UDAAN ‘concluded with a gala ceremony on Thursday. Udaan’s 4th run celebrated creativity, mental agility and a number of talents among aspiring media professionals. Around 300 students from 25 leading media institutions of Northern India including Punjab University, Punjabi University, Guru Nanak Dev University Jallandhar and Himachal Pradesh University participated enthusiastically. Guru Nanak Dev University (Regional campus) bagged the overall trophy by winning most number of events.
The event was inaugurated with lamp lighting ceremony by the Vice-chancellor of the university Dr. Madhu Chitkara. There were many events that kept up the spirit of the fest and they were Catch the Glimpse- Photography competition within the campus, Aditivity – Ad designing event, Tickle your brain- Quiz competition and Layout Mania- Page designing competition. There were few visual events, which were the charm of the fest like Documentary, RJ hunt and Curtain call. Dr.Madhu Chitkara also shared words of wisdom with the participants and also mentioned about the hard work put in by the students and faculty of Chitkara School of Mass Communication.
Individually, in scribble pad Simran from Panjab University, Chandigarh bagged the first prize. ‘Catch the glimpse’ event was won by Amir from Galgotia University and ‘RJ Hunt’ by Arun K Singh from GNDU, Regional Campus, respectively. Kuldeep Feran from HP University won first award for ‘News Flash’, Nikhil,Karan and Yuvraj from Punjabi University bagged first positions in ‘Aditivity. 1st position in Documentary was won by Naveen, Rohit , Nikhil, Rajat and Nandini from Guru Nanak Khalsa College. Layout Mania and Frame Box events were won by Ashish Gupta from Punjabi University and Karan Kumar from GNDU regional campus respectively. In the event Tickle your brain, Sandeep and Gurjant from Punjabi University, Department of Journalism, Patiala bagged the first position. The two newly introduced events ‘Tooncature’ was won by Prabhleen Kumar from GMN College, Ambala Cantt and the other new event Curtain Call was bagged by students of Punjabi University, Department of Journalism, Patiala respectively.
The fest ‘UDAAN’ was overall a success and in the end it reinforced the belief that media is one of the most upcoming and responsible professions of tomorrow and also raised the bar for the next fest to be held in Chitkara University.
