Toy Hackathon ‘Toycathon 2021’ partners with Chitkara University
Chitkara University became the official partner of ‘Toycathon 2021’, the recently launched venture of MHRD’S Innovation Cell.
Under the ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ initiated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Toycathon-2021 is determined to challenge India’s innovative minds to conceptualise new Toy and Games supporting Bharatiya civilization, history, culture, mythology and ethos.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Union Minister for Textiles and Women & Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani jointly launched the Toycathon 2021 on January 5, 2021.
Toycathon 2021 is an inter-ministerial initiative managed and organised by Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell with support from All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Textiles and Ministry Information and broadcasting. Toycathon 2021 shall be a unique opportunity for students, Teachers, Start-ups and Toyexperts/professionals in India to submit their innovative toys/games concepts and win money prizes worth Rs. 50 lakhs.
The Toycathon will mainly focus and aim towards conceptualising new and innovative toys using local materials which aren’t only economical and affordable but also safe and environment friendly.
