Toastmasters International conducted an event Open House Discussion for Mass Communication Students
“Prejudice is a great time saver. You can form opinions without having to get the facts”. This quote by E. B. White aptly sums up the Open House Discussion conducted by Toastmasters International for the final year students of BAJMC and MAJMC. The students put forth their views on pertinent and burning issues being faced by our country today from Bharat & India – 2 different strokes? to Is farmer’s suicide trend tackled well by Central and State governments? A freewheeling and engrossing discussion ensued. The audience asked very incisive questions and kept the participants on their toes.
The event helped in achieving two major goals. On one hand, the students got an opportunity to put to effective use their communication skills and articulate well. On the other, they got a first-hand and practical experience of thinking on their feet and giving precise and concise answers to questions posed by the audience.
Dr. Ashutosh Mishra, Dean CSMC and Mr. Abhijit Chatterjee, Professor Emeritus CSMC Ms. Sovia R.J Singh, Dean CSL graced the event. The first, second and third positions were bagged by Beerinder, Mehak and Sukhjinder Kaur.
