The Ekjute Theatre Group Performs Play at Chitkara University
Chitkara University, Punjab, organized a performance on April 19th, 2022 by Ekjute, one of the most influential theatre groups in India. The show “With Love, Aap Ki Saiyaara” was written, directed, and performed by Juhi Babbar Soni (daughter of Sh. Raj Babbar).
The play “With Love, Aap Ki Saiyaara” was inspired by a character conceived by Nadira Zaheer Babbar and saw lead performers Achint Marwah, Smita Juwatkar, and others in elements. The character “Saiyaara” was conceived by Nadira Zaheer Babbar. Saiyaara is passionate, urban, and undaunted. She dares to dream through the perspective of a modern Indian lady. Her sweet and spicy perspective on “men, marketing, and mores” was delivered in a fascinating conversational manner with the gallery, making the audience a part of the performance. Saiyaara made sure to glitter her way into the hearts of the audience and dazzle forever. The performance touched various human emotions. Ms. Juhi Babbar Soni then shared her thoughts with the audience and thanked everyone for such a warm response to her act.
Born into a family of actors, Juhi developed an interest in acting at an early age. She started by acting in the theatre and made her stage debut alongside her mother (theatre artist Nadira Babbar) in the play titled ‘Begum Jaan’. It was Juhi’s histrionics in this play that impressed her father. Accordingly, he decided to make a film titled “Kash Aap Humare Hote” with Juhi in the female lead role opposite singer Sonu Nigam. In 2005, she made her Punjabi film debut with Yaaran Naal Baharan, alongside Jimmy Shergill. In 2009, she appeared in an Indian sitcom, Ghar Ki Baat Hai, produced by Shah Rukh Khan‘s Red Chillies Idiot Box, in which she played the role of a homemaker. Juhi made a comeback to acting after a long break with Neeraj Pandey’s film Aiyaary (2018).
Ms. Juhi Babbar Soni mentors budding actors to make them learn acting skills. Juhi also manages Ekjute Theatre Group along with her mother, Nadira Babbar.
