Teachers honoured, felicitated on Teachers’ day at Chitkara University
“Those who educate children well are more to be honoured than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, the art of living well” – and we could not agree more! The role of a teacher in our life is an important one as they lay the foundations for growing years. At times they appear to be tough on us, but it’s only for our betterment as they ultimately try to mould, shape and chisel our raw talent and potential, and help us fight our fears and weaknesses. A teacher’s role is not only to impart knowledge to their students but also to inspire and encourage us. In order to honour and thank our mentors, Teachers’ Day, was celebrated at Chitkara University, Punjab; with full gusto, on September 5, 2019.
The celebration started with a special keynote address to acknowledge the sincere hard work and endless contribution of Chitkara University faculty & staff to our students’ educational life, and to commemorate the 131st birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan, the great academic philosopher, and a renowned teacher.
Hon’ble Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University; presided over the celebrations, along with Deans & Directors of all departments. Dr. Madhu enlightened the gathering with her impressive words on the priceless contribution of teachers to nation-building – and shared how a good teacher inspires hope, ignites imagination and instils love for learning. Special appearance by the guests – Mr. Pradeep Kapoor and Ms. Savita Kapoor, made the occasion even more memorable.
The ambience of the Exploretorium spoke for itself – with the décor represented the values and the ethics that teachers imbibe in us, and help us be better versions of ourselves. Faculty & staff from various departments presented a variety of performances showcasing their passion for teaching with great fervour. The day concluded with a facilitation ceremony for the entire fraternity of Chitkara University.
