Swachhta Pakhwada 2020 organized by Nss Department

The NSS Department of Chitkara University, Punjab, organized Swachhta Pakhwada 2020 from January 16-31. A Swachhta Pledge was taken on the first day of the event. Dr. S.C. Sharma, Registrar, Chitkara University, Punjab; all the Deans and Directors of various departments, along with the faculty members and the NSS volunteers, took the pledge on Swachhta.

Under this 15 days’ Swachhta initiative, various competitive, environmental and societal activities were organized. Many students participated in Speech Competition, Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competitions organized by the NSS Wing of the Computer Science and Engineering Department. The NSS Wing of Chitkara College of Hospitality Management conducted various activities on the maintenance of Kitchen, Food Waste Management and Cleanliness. The NSS Wing of Chitkara College of Education organized a talk on ‘Segregation Of Household Waste And Recycling Of Kitchen Waste’ by Dr. Geeta Arora from Social Substance (NGO). The Alpha Teachers also sensitized the school children of the adopted villages (Ram Nagar, Kalo Majra and Jhansla) of Chitkara University, Punjab, on the theme, ‘Health and Hygiene’. The NSS Wing of Chitkara School of Interior Design and Chitkara School of Planning & Architecture organized a competition on the theme, ‘Best Out Of Waste- Creating Useful Items Out Of Waste Material In The Surrounding’.

Certificates were provided to the winners of different Swachhta competitions.
