Study trip for ‘Art & Architecture’ students

Chitkara School of Planning & Architecture organised a study trip for students of seventh Semester, Art & Architecture (Elective).The trip was primarily organized to introduce students to the professional practice of visual arts, its trends now, followed by an understanding of its cohesive integration with architecture.

The trip proved to a vital ‘field survey’ for the elective of Art and Architecture course presently being offered to these students. Although, the majority of the sites, both contemporaneous and historical, are located in New Delhi and Gurgaon, they broadly reflect some of the trends and practice that encompasses both art and architecture followed pan India. Students carried out a survey of all the sites visited within the parameters of the course content and they were accompanied by Mr. Nitin Dutt, Professor, Chitkara School of Planning and Architecture.

Students had the privilege of visiting:

  • National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.
  • Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, New Delhi.
  • Kiran Nader Museum of Art, New Delhi.
  • Lotus Temple, New Delhi.
  • Humanyun’s Tomb Complex, New Delhi.
  • ArtAlive, Gurgaon.
  • Devi Art Foundation, Gurgaon.
  • British Council Building, New Delhi.
