Students get insight on healthcare at Dr Morepen Labs & Abbott Healthcare at Baddi

Students from Chitkara College of Pharmacy visited Dr Morepen Labs & Abbott Healthcare (USA) at Baddi for getting industrial exposure and learn more about healthcare from professionals.

Students who visited the premises belonged to B. Pharm VII and V Semester. The visit was to Dr Morepen Labs and Abbott Healthcare’s manufacturing premises situated at Baddi to get an insight into production, quality control, quality assurance and documentation procedures stringently followed during commercial pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Both the plants have been approved by international regulatory agencies, including WHO, US FDA, MHRA, UK apart from Indian regulatory agency CDSCO, New Delhi.

The group visited the state of the art tablet, ointment, powders and cephalosporin and sterile sections at the plants. The group was also introduced to QA procedures, CAPA and other Quality Systems.

Validation at equipment, process and analytical levels were also discussed as well as standardization of SOPs for individual processes.

Dr Ashish K. Rehni, Associate Professor and Parminder Singh, Assistant Professor, accompanied the groups. Dr S. Arora conveyed gratitude to M.K. Sharma, GM, QC, Dr Morepen Labs and Anil Arora, GM HR, Abbott Healthcare.
