Six months basic computer training course by Punjabi Welfare Society in association with Chitkara University

MOU was signed on 8 December 2010 between Punjabi Welfare Society, Cheeka and Chitkara Education Trust for six-month basic computer training course under “Mission Outreach”. This agreement is based upon the commitment to promote free of cost, charitable, need-based education for underprivileged section of the society. Prof. Gautam Malik and Prof. Harvinder Singh, Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering are looking after all the correspondence with the Punjabi Welfare Society.

Certificates to 55 underprivileged girl students were provided after the successful completion of the 14th batch of “Six Months Basic Computer Course”. The first batch which started in October ended in March and the External exam was conducted on 26 March 2010. 28 girl students had registered in the first batch. Also, an opening ceremony of the 15th batch with 65 students registering was held at Punjabi Welfare Society, Cheeka, Kaithal (Haryana). Students are trained for M.S Excel, M.S Word, PowerPoint Presentation, Paint etc. The trainer is well qualified and is financially aided by Punjab Welfare Society. Certificates are provided by Chitkara Educational Trust.

Some of past students have been placed in good firms and are earning good amount which makes their parents feel proud. These students are really thankful to Dr Madhu Chitkara, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University, Punjab.
