Seniors organise a dazzling fresher’s party to welcome newcomers on campus

With a pulsating ambience, super-cool crowd and foot-tapping music, the Freshers’ Party, Bienvenue 2019 began with a blast at the campus on September 14, 2019.

Hon’ble Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Vice-Chancellor; and Dr. S C Sharma, Registrar, Chitkara University, Punjab; graced the occasion, along with Deans & Directors of all departments. Dr. Madhu blessed the freshers for the exciting journey that they are about to embark upon. “May this be an enriching, enjoyable, liberating and life-changing time for you. Let your first success be just a beginning – let your dreams chase you,” she said.

Continuing with the proud tradition of the college, senior students and newcomers of the college mingled with each other at the Freshers’ welcome party. Inquisitive about campus life and conscious of the latest fashion trends, the fresher’s dressed their best. The excitement augmented to a joyful high when seniors began with their star performance. Talent and enthusiasm were clearly in sync as students presented exemplary performances including dance, singing, theatre. The party had all the ingredients of fun and entertainment.

After initial rounds of exemplary performances, fashionable freshmen dazzled the stage as they walked the ramp. The judges had a difficult time deciding on the winners as ‘fashionable freshmen’ came up with some fantastic performances! Various titles were keenly contested, and the participants were judged on different parameters of talent, quirkiness, presentability and smartness. Finally, the coveted title of Chitkara Idol (male) went to Gurpreet Singh (BCA); and ‘Chitkara Idol’ (female) went to Vandita Ramaulee (Pharma. D). Arnav Tripathi (BBA) and Etasha Sirkeck (CCE) were declared ‘Mr. & Ms. Celebutante’; while Arnav Tripathi (BBA) and Tenzin Rigzen (Nursing) were selected as ‘Mr. & Ms. Ingenious’. The title for ‘Mr. Debonair’ went to Dishaan Singh (CCP-B.Pharmacy); and title for ‘Ms. Vivacious’ went to Sheeza Bakshi (CSE). The winners were felicitated with trophies and sashes.

Finally, the program ended on a high note with a starry musical DJ nite with Progressive Brothers. The super talented duo – Sunny & Karan – rocked the electronic beats delivering hit tracks to transport students into a whole another galaxy. Indeed, the magic in the air tuned into the chords of pulsating rhythmic hearts and bonds for the years that lay ahead.
