Punjab Innovation & Technology Summit 2019: Dr Virender Kadyan bags first prize for his innovation BrilTab – Edukit Speech Lab
In a startup competition, Dr Virender Kadyan’s BrilTab – Edukit Speech Lab innovation won the start-up pitch at Punjab Innovation & Technology Summit 2019 held at Hotel Lalit on November 5, 2019. Dr Virender won a cash prize worth Rs 50,000, in a glittering valedictory function which was attended by over 500 delegates from the region. He received the prize along with Vice-Chancellor Dr Madhu Chitkara, Chitkara University, Punjab; from Mr R K Verma, Principal Secretary, Science & Technology, Government of Punjab.
Leaders from government, academia, industry and innovation and research organisations from across the country and abroad, attended the Punjab Innovation & Technology Summit 2019, with the resolute intent to make Mission Innovate Punjab a success, and position Punjab as the research and innovation hub of the country. The Summit brought together start-ups and innovators at all HEIs of Punjab region together on one platform.
Chitkara University was also facilitated at the occasion for being an active partner of the Punjab Innovation Summit. The honour was received by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Madhu Chitkara. Shri Manpreet Singh Badal, Finance Minister, Government of Punjab; visited the Chitkara University stall, personally interacted with the innovators and encouraged them.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Punjab Principal Secretary Science & Technology, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Verma, informed that the Punjab Innovation & Technology Summit 2019 is aimed at reversing the trend and restoring the glory of the state. It is being organised under Mission Innovate Punjab, the purpose of which is to build a robust ecosystem for research and innovation in the state by synergising relationships among the four pillars – academia, industries, government departments and funding agencies. The Mission is striving to enhance competitiveness, boost growth and create quality jobs, he added.
Three documents were released on the occasion – Framework for Mission Innovate Punjab, Draft State Action Plan for Climate Change and Concept Document of Global Innovation Hub.
