Prof. Preethi Pradhan, Dean Chitkara School of Health Sciences was a key speaker at 8th Healthcare Leaders Forum (HLF) in Chandigarh on 27th April 2018 organised by Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd. She talked about how Chitkara University has innovative approaches to improve quality of training for allied health professionals. She also participated in a panel discussion along with Dr Raj Bahadur, Vice-Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Punjab, on education innovation in healthcare sector human resources development.
Dr Pradhan added that the number of allied health professionals needs to grow for providing better healthcare. Today there is a lack of 68 lakh allied healthcare professionals in the country.
The innovative model of health sciences offered through Chitkara needs to be replicated throughout the country. Despite a substantial growth in the growing number of schools, colleges, nursing homes, hospitals across the nation, there is still a shortage of quality institutes causing a wide gap that does not allow meeting the demands caused by India’s population.
Seeing India’s size and multiplicity, we need a lot to introduce the benefits of education and quality health care to Indian citizens. The talk proved to be immensely helpful to all present at the event and explained how Chitkara University has contributed innovatively to the region’s growing demand for professional health education.
