Prithvijeet Singh, CSE Student honoured with ‘Best Cadet’ and ‘Best Shooter’ Award by NCC
Prithvijeet Singh, fifth semester student of Chitkara Computer Science and Engineering has been honoured with “Best Cadet” award by National Cadet Corps.
Not only this, Prithvijeet has also been given the “Best Shooter” award by Col Manjinder Singh during the 10-day Annual Training Camp, ATC, organised in Ropar at 23 PB Battalion NCC. He was chosen among 500 cadets.
The yearly ATC is no joke and every NCC cadet will swear by the camp. It tests cadets on drill, discipline, turn out, shooting, extra-curricular activities held at the camp and also for some sessions given at the camp like first-aid, self discipline etc.
Prithvijeet managed to outshine others from the first day of the camp and became everyone’s favorite with his grit and determination.
The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.
We are proud that Prithvijeet has met the expectations of his battalion and his alma mater.
