Office of Student Affairs organises a virtual Quiz and Painting Competition to celebrate International Museums Day
The Office of Student Affairs under the patronage of Chitkara University, Punjab, ‘Sustainable Development Goal No. 4’ celebrated ‘International Museum Day’ on May 18th, 2021. Two competitions were organised for students ‘Journey of Museums and its unique manuscripts’ a quiz and ‘Painting the relics in museums’ a painting competition. Sonu, Arunima and Ankit, first-year students of CSE, secured the first, second and third position respectively in the Quiz Competition. Payal Pathnaik and Siddhartha Dheer, a first-year student of Chitkara School of Architecture and Planning bagged the first and second prize in the painting competition respectively. The third prize was bagged by Ragini Kaushik, a first-year student of the Department of Fashion Design.
International Museum Day is an annual observance of the International Council of Museums. The day celebrates and highlights the importance of museums in the development of society. The theme for the International Museum Day 2021 was “The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine”. Every year, the Advisory Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) organises the theme of the event, which is celebrated by various countries. It could be a single day, a weekend, a week, or even a month long. International Museum Day has grown in popularity all throughout the world, from America to Oceania, encompassing Africa, Europe, and Asia. The day also represents a unique moment for the international museum community.
