NSS volunteers spend time with children at Kartar Aasra Orphanage
Compassion is the value that binds everyone and everything together and our NSS volunteers are true examples of compassionate people. NSS unit of the University visited Kartar Aasra Orphanage in Chandigarh. They organised various games for the children along with a drawing competition as well as an interactive session.
Our volunteers tried to understand the community of children they interacted with. They talked to them about their problems and contemplated on how can they help solving them.
These volunteers are youngsters who develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility and utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems. For this they regularly conduct various visits and interactions to reach out to rural areas.
They help develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities and gain skills in mobilizing community participation. Children at Kartar Aasra were made to draw, play and interact and our volunteers noticed immense talent in these kids who have been abandoned due to some reason or the other. It was a fulfilling and a satisfying experience for everyone.
