NSS Volunteers attend ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ – an online programme of the Regional Directorate, NSS, Chandigarh

Keeping in mind the importance of culture in our lives, the Regional Directorate of NSS, Chandigarh organized an online programme – ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’, for the National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of all the Universities/Colleges of Punjab and Andhra Pradesh on July 7, 2020.
The Programme was initiated by Dr Kamal Kumar Kar, Directorate of NSS, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, NSS, New Delhi. Ms Harinder Kaur, Programme Advisor of NSS, Chandigarh hosted the programme followed by Dr Neelam Verma, Program Coordinator, NSS, Chitkara University, Punjab, as a prominent State Speaker who addressed the audience about the culture, ideas, tradition and language of Punjab region.
The programme was attended by more than 400 spectators from universities/colleges in Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. Shreya Mehndiratta, a student of Computer Science and Engineering, Chitkara University, Punjab; along with other three NSS volunteers, Ms Moksha from Chitkara College of Pharmacy, Ms Ankita from Chitkara College of Nursing and Mr Satyam Sharma from Chitkara School of Mass Communication had enthusiastically participated in this programme and manifested Punjab culture by presenting the popular folk dances like Bhangra and Gidda. The students enlightened the importance of Indian culture in our lives.
