NSS organised Seminar cum Workshop on “Sustainable Agriculture Through Crop Rotation In Organic Farming”

National Service Scheme (NSS) department organised Seminar cum Workshop on “Sustainable Agriculture Through Crop Rotation In Organic Farming” in association with NGO – Kheti Virasat Mission, Jaiton (Punjab). Mr. Jagtar Singh Dhaliwal, Assistant Director, Kheti Virasat Mission, Jaiton, in his first session addressed approximately 50 farmers from adopted villages of Chitkara University. After his session there was Tree plantation drive. Exhibition on organic farming was arranged with the help of Kheti Virasat Mission for farmers and NSS volunteers.In the afternoon session he addressed more than 80 NSS volunteers on ‘Urban Kitchen gardening. Mr. Varun, member,Kheti Virasat Mission, Jaiton also discussed about the health issues which are related with our food habits.

Radio talk was also recorded for the community on the importance of organic farming.Mr. Dhaliwal also gave the demo to the volunteers regarding the techniques of plantation at homes.
