NSS department organises an event ‘Run For Freedom’ with an aim to commemorate India’s 72nd Independence Day
NSS department, Chitkara University, with an aim to commemorate India’s 72nd Independence Day, organized RUN FOR FREEDOM today at the campus. Patriotism is voluntary. It is a feeling of loyalty and allegiance that is the result of knowledge and belief. A true patriot shows their patriotism through the actions, by their choice. Acknowledging the same, more than 250 NSS volunteers from various departments came forth and took upon themselves to be an active part of the organized run to pay tribute to this spirit of freedom and to the courage and sacrifices that countless men and women made.
Dr S C Sharma, Registrar Chitkara University, added allures to the event by gracing the event as the honourable Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr I S Sandhu (Dean examination), Col. Rakesh Sharma(Associate Director), University Affairs, and Dr K K Mishra, Assistant Dean AQAC, put before students an example to follow by becoming an evident part of the run and being the torch-bearers for the occasion. Ms Neelam, Programme Coordinator NSS, emphasized the significance of inculcating human values, discipline and qualities of leadership in the students and stressed the importance of freedom.
