National Maritime Day celebrated honoring the rich history of seafaring

Chitkara University School of Maritime Studies celebrated National Maritime Day. The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Shri Rajeev Arora, IAS (Retd.), and Dr. Ashok K Chitkara, Chancellor of Chitkara University.

The celebration started with a Guard of Honour to the Chief Guest, followed by a swimming regale, the investiture ceremony, and a cultural program. Capt. Prabhat Nigam, Vice President of Maritime School, welcomed everyone and spoke about the recent progress in the shipping sector. He elaborated on the theme “Amrit Kaal of Shipping.”

Other speakers at the event included Chief Guest Rajeev Arora, Cheng Jagmeet Makkar (Chairman-IMEI, Hong Kong), and Capt. Arjun Singh, Chairman of CMMI Chandigarh chapter.

The event concluded with a tree plantation by all the dignitaries present!
