National Girl Child Day: Chitkara Dept of Nursing organises an expert talk on ‘PCPNDT Act’
National Girl Child Day is celebrated to increase awareness among people about all the inequalities faced by the girl child in the society. On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, the students of Department of Nursing, Chitkara School of Health Sciences organised an Expert Talk on ‘PCPNDT Act’ (Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana), a campaign of the Government of India that aims to generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls.
Dr. Mohinder Singh, SMO; and Dr. Henna Sharma, MO, CHC Kalomajra, a village adopted by Chitkara University under Corporate Social Responsibility program, addressed B.Sc. (1st year) and Post Basic Nursing (2nd year) students about PCPNDT Act (Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act) in detail and regarding the interventional strategies of the Government under the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Program.
