The national awareness campaign saw its focus on conserving forest biodiversity by valuing it and harnessing it as medicine that has become consistent with poverty reduction and public health prevention efforts.
The campaign was started by Dr Jyotsna Kaushal, Convener, NEAC in 2011-12. The event was conducted this year for the second time after seeing its significance in 2011.

There were speakers from the arena at the campaign and the aspects of the topic were delved upon by Dr. Jaspreet Kaur and Dr. Sukhrishpal Kaur who shared their views and knowledge that they derived through their experiences and researches regarding biodiversity conservation and application of medicinal plants.
This was followed by discussion on various issues encompassing conserving forest biodiversity. The campaign proved useful for all the experts who attended it and also our students who learnt the importance of conserving forest biodiversity.
