MoU inked with Dept. of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation

Chitkara University is proud to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India for the “National Mission for Clean Ganga.”

Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Ashok K Chitkara along with Hon’ble Pro Chancellor Dr. Madhu Chitkara signed the MoU for both the campuses in presence of Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon’ble Minister of Jal Shakti, Govt of India, Shri G Asok Kumar, IAS, Director General, National Mission for Clean Ganga, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Govt of India, Dr. T G Sitharam, Chairman, All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) during the event.

This MoU aims to further education, awareness, and building actionable initiatives to help spread awareness on river rejuvenation in general and the “Namami Gange Programme” in particular. The collaboration between Chitkara University and the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation will also focus on achieving academic excellence in the field of water quality and environmentally sustainable development through public outreach activities.

This MoU provides an opportunity for Chitkara University students to carry out research work about internships and dissertations at NMCG, thereby promoting research and innovation in the field of water quality and environmentally sustainable development. Additionally, this collaboration will help in building a pool of skilled professionals who are capable of contributing to the cause of river rejuvenation in general and the “Namami Gange Programme” in particular.

This MoU is a significant step towards promoting a cleaner and healthier environment, and Chitkara University is proud to be a part of this initiative. We are confident that this collaboration will benefit not only our student community but also society at large by promoting environmental sustainability and water conservation.
