Mehul Sharma at Google India Summit
Mehul Sharma, third year student of Chitkara Department of Computer Science & Engineering, was selected as the Google Student Ambassador (GSA) for Chitkara University, Punjab, for the 2014-15 session.
He, along with other 177 GSA’s from Colleges and Universities all over India, attended the Google India Summit GSAs India at Infosys Campus, Pune. Both technical and non-technical sessions were delivered by Google Experts, including William Florance, Head of Outreach, Emerging Markets, who gave an absorbing as well as informative keynote on 10X Thinking. There were also sessions given by Rajan Anandan, Head of Google India; Jade Bessiere, Top Contributor Community Manager; Carson Page and Patrick Martinent among several others.
Mehul was a part of the team Google Sky, which was in competition with 16 other teams for developing a prototype for making online shopping an easier affair. After this, every GSA was provided with fake currencies to invest in the prototypes made by the teams. Not only did his team feature among the top three in the competition, but the presentation given by his team was widely appreciated and liked by the entire Jury.
Apart from this, every GSA received a variety of Google merchandise, including a Gmail bag, a GSA T-shirt as well as a hoodie.
