Rakhi Gautam of Chitkara School of Mass Communication won “Press Release Writing Competition” and Aditi Sharma won the second position as Radio Jockey (RJ) at the CU MediaFest 2018, held on October 26, 2018. The fest lined up various events pertaining to ‘media’ where around 400 students from more than 30 educational institutes, from all over the country, participated. The event provided students with a platform to show their creative skills, exchange ideas and all-round development.

Sumaira Khan, an eminent media professional from one of the leading national media house, was the chief guest at the occasion. Defining purposeful media, she said, “Even though the dependence and usage of social media platforms are increasing but people still come back to the traditional sources of media like newspapers and TV channels to verify and authenticate the news. There is a system of checks and balances before the news is delivered to the public which makes the news credible.”

11 different categories namely short film, photography, storytelling, press release writing, news anchoring, ad-mad, radio jockey, debate, poster designing, caption writing and group dance were organised as a part of the event.
