Mass Communication students attend 5-day workshop on mobile documentary at Metropolia University, Helsinki, Finland

Our Students from School of Mass Communication have attended a 5 day Mobile Documentary workshop at Metropolia University, Helsinki, Finland and successfully produced six documentaries.

The MoDo or the Mobile Documentary Project aimed at deepening the internationalization of education with Chitkara University. The project developed a new pedagogical tool for the production of storytelling mobile documents.

The theme of the MoDo documentaries focused on developing gender equality in the two countries through a mobile documentary. The special aim of the Project is enhancing the role of girls and women in India and Finland. The target group of the project was the students and teachers of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Chitkara University.
The background of the cooperation and the Project was globalization, quick technical development, and changing media: new working and pedagogical methods are needed. According to the ‘Federation of the Finnish Media Industry,’ there is also a need for international educational cooperation.

Our students benefitted from the experience due to the international exposure they got during the documentary.
The workshop was funded by Finnish Broadcasting Company, Finland.
