International workshop on ‘Emerging Trends in Healthcare Management’

International workshop on ‘Emerging Trends in Healthcare Management’ is being organized for MBA Healthcare students 2012 batch from April 24 to April 27 at Punjab campus.

The main aim of the international workshop is to familiarise the students with the recent focus in healthcare, which is primarily on using creativity, innovations and entrepreneurship for better healthcare. Through this module, the students will work to create an innovative healthcare idea into a feasible business model.

For enabling this, international faculty Dr Rubin Pillay, who is Daniel White Jordan Clinical Professor and Director, Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship Academy, School of Entrepreneurship, Spears School of Business, Oklahoma State University, USA, is currently at Chitkara University’s Punjab campus.

Apart from holding such an impressive profile, Dr Pillay is a family physician with a post-graduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacology. He also holds a PhD in Business Administration, MBA and MSc in Health management. Prior to taking up his current position, he headed up programs in ‘Health Leadership’ at the McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government, Pa, USA, and the School of Business and Finance, Cape Town, South Africa. He has extensive international teaching and consulting experience and has been published widely in the field of Strategic Health leadership. His current interests are in Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship with a particular focus on the health sector.
