Institute of Advanced Energy and Research organized Workshop on Energy Management and Auditing

Workshop on Energy Management and Auditing was organized by Institution of Engineers, Chitkara University under guidance of Ms. Anu Singla, Associate Professor, Institute of Advanced Energy and Research, Chitkara University and it covered the various aspects of energy management and energy conservation. Students were taught about various topics like energy scenario in India, Energy Conservation Act, star ratings, energy efficient lighting systems, energy efficient motors and drives, energy conservation efficient opportunities in various mechanical processes and energy auditing techniques.

Ar. Jit Kumar Gupta, Co-Chairman, IGBC-CII, Chandigarh took a session on “Energy Efficient Design of Buildings”. The workshop participants alongwith students of School of Architecture and Planning, 1st year Mechanical and Electronics & Communication Engineering attended the session and interacted with expert. On second day of workshop students had interaction with Dr. Anil Kumar Kohli, CEO, EESSI, Panchkula who took session on “Sustainable& Energy Efficient Utilities for Industrial Units”. The students also visited Punjab Energy Development Agency, Chandigarh.

Ms Anu Singla explained the need and importance of energy conservation and emphasized that it must evolve as way of living.
